Daniel Bennett Group

The Daniel Bennett Group's music is a unique mix of jazz, folk, and trance-inducing minimalism.  The music has a remarkable crossover among folk and jazz audiences alike.  Insite Magazine writes, "The real brilliance lies in the ability of Bennett to get out of the way of his own tunes, allowing the melodies to filter through, pure and unadulterated."

In the winter of 2005, Bennett began collaborating with Boston bassist John Servo.  A short time later Bennett and Servo began working with well known guitarist Brant Grieshaber and percussionist Rick Landwehr. 
The newly formed quartet began making appearances all over New England at venues like Harpers Ferry, Cambridge YMCA Theatre, Brazzille Restaurant, Bennett Alliance Music Fest, and the Cambridge ArtCentral Festival (to name a few). 
 
The Daniel Bennett Group released A Nation of Bears in 2007 on the Bennett Alliance label.  Metronome Magazine declared, A Nation of Bears is "a spirited collection of acoustic driven originals that soar with acoustic aplomb... A recording of expanse vision and musical richness."  In January of 2008, the Daniel Bennett Group traveled to Rochester, New York to record The Legend of Bear Thompson, the group's second release in their trilogy of musical fables.  The quartet plans to release the third "animal installment" in late 2009.
